Water before Coffee
Coffee is generally not easy on the stomach first thing in the morning. Also we usually wake up dehydrated and coffee will dehydrate us even further. This can be a shock to your system. A glass of water, especially warm, will flush and prepare the digestive tract. Water will hydrate you in the best possible way. This is especially important if you are having an espresso.

Water Makes Each New Sip of Coffee Your First Sip
The first sip of coffee is always the best one. Try taking a sip of water in between coffee sips. Use preferably purified alkaline water. See Body Acid Alkaline Balance Article here. Water will “reset” your taste buds and you will feel as if you are starting with your first sip of coffee every time.
